BROOKFIELD, CT — Robert J. Gould, 91, formerly of Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 16, 2018 at home in Melbourne, FL. He was born on December 31, 1926 in Far Rockaway, NY to Celia F. (Mitchell) Gould and Beverly J. Gould. He was the husband of the late Joan A. Gould.

Mr. Gould received a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the New York Conservatory. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a design engineer at Fairchild Aviation in New York and also at The Barden Corporation in CT.

He is survived by his daughters Susanne (Sanford) Boughton of Danbury, Betty (Michael) Sassetti of Melbourne, Jayne Showah of Danbury and Nanci (Geiger) Snelgrove of Melbourne. He will be missed by his grandchildren Laura, Heather, Alison, Sam and his six great grandchildren, Sarah, Jonathon, Erin, Kayla, Aiden and Sienna. He was preceded in death by his sister Marion and his parents. 

A Memorial Service will be held at the Congregational Church of Brookfield in September. In lieu of flowers, the family asks the donations be made to the Memorial Garden in his name at the Congregational Church of Brookfield, 160 Whisconier Road, Brookfield, CT 06804.
