EDWARD PRACUTA

Edward Joseph Pracuta, 92, of Summerville, South Carolina, beloved husband of the late Anne K. Pracuta, died peacefully on May 4, 2022. He was born in Danbury, Connecticut on August 19, 1929, son of the late Hipolet and Petrinella Pracuta.
He attended Danbury Schools, graduated as valedictorian from Henry Abbott Technical School, where he focused his career as a machinist. He served four years in the US Navy as a machinist and was honorably discharged. Ed was an avid gardener and loved making wooden toys to sell at local craft fairs. Other passions were the beach and going on cruises.
He is survived by his daughters, Diane Hotchkiss and husband David, with whom they made their home, Carol Piorkowski of Bethel, CT, Mary Ellen Woodin of Pompano Beach, FL, his son Brian Pracuta and wife Debbie of Harwinton, CT, nine grandchildren Douglas O'Hare, Jennifer Ruopp (Matthew), Matthew Jancewicz, Amy Dexter (Ryan), Ashlyn Reed, Skye Pracuta, Christopher Woodin, Tyler Woodin (Sydney), and Gillian Bothroyd; seven great-grandchildren Kayli and Hayden O'Hare, Aaron Ruopp, Graham Dexter, Hailey and Nathaniel Zuk-Pafumi, and Flint Woodin, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his cherished wife Anne of 62 years, he was also predeceased by his sisters, Stella Pracuta, Helen Morrison and Mary Stahley, brother Chester Pracuta, and son-in-law John Piorkowski.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours and services will be private.
